Understanding your analytics dashboard

Gain actionable business insights by monitoring key operational metrics, revenue trends, and real-time activity logs.

The analytics dashboard pulls from the same transaction data your team generates every day, aggregated into a form you can actually act on. This guide breaks down what each panel means and how to read it correctly.

1. Revenue overview

The top panel shows gross revenue, net revenue after refunds, and a period-over-period comparison. Gross revenue reflects the total value of completed orders; net revenue subtracts confirmed refunds within the same period. If these two numbers diverge sharply, check the Refunds panel for the cause before assuming a data issue.

2. Reading the revenue trend chart

The trend chart buckets revenue by day, week, or month depending on your selected range. Each point reflects only completed and paid orders — pending or cancelled orders are excluded entirely, so the chart always reflects realized revenue, not projected revenue.

Chart granularity by range:
< 14 days → daily buckets
14-90 days → weekly buckets
> 90 days → monthly buckets

3. Top products and categories

This panel ranks products by revenue contribution within the selected period, with a toggle to switch to unit volume instead. It's most useful for spotting a mismatch between your best-sellers and your highest-margin items — a product can top the volume chart while contributing relatively little to revenue.

4. Activity log feed

The activity feed on the dashboard shows a live stream of significant platform events: completed transactions, refunds, inventory adjustments, and team member actions like role changes. It's scoped to your permission level, so Staff-role users see fewer event types than Admins.

Dashboard numbers update in near real-time but are computed from confirmed data only. A transaction still in a pending payment state won't appear in revenue totals until it's confirmed.
